California Impressionist Painter
As a painter Marilyn Froggatt covers the landscape from the Southern California deserts to the Pacific Northwest. She feels there is something unique in every scene she captures, even if it is the same location on a different day. She uses bold brush strokes to depict the sense of time, space and the light. She has studied painting with many talented master artists and appreciates the work of the impressionists and realists from 1890 on.
Marilyn was born and raised in Southern California and has resided in the Coachella Valley for many years. She paints daily and joins her fellow artist associates from the Palm Springs and Inland Empire areas several times a month to paint outdoors. She also participates in many shows and plein air competitions annually.
Marilyn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences, a California Secondary Teaching Credential, has studied sales, marketing, art, photography, literature, creative writing, and languages. She now devotes herself full-time to pursue her interests in landscape and still life painting.
